We had a wonderful response to our inaugural awards, receiving hundreds of high-calibre entries, and it was a challenging prospect to come up with our shortlist and final winners, so many congratulations on your well-deserved success! Our Christmas toy awards are the most balanced of their kind. We asked our 801 listers to send us their recommendations for the best toy of the year from 15 categories. These independent toy retailers were free to choose any products they liked. No shortlists were drawn up and suppliers were unable to influence the results.

Moover de Moover Toys et Kakuzu de Gigamic, winners of the  5th édition of the price « Le coup de des ludothécaires »

The price « Le coup de des ludothécaires », organized for the 5th consecutive year by l’Association des Ludothèques Françaises in partnership with la FJP (Fédération Française des Industries Jouet Puériculture), has awarded the best game and the best toy presented at Le Salon Jouets et Jeux, from January 24 to January 26 2010, at La Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris.

And the Winners are …

In the Toy category, the ‘’Ludothècaires’’ have choosen Moover Toys, represented at the toy fair by La Frog Compagnie. This classic wooden toy range has been thought so that the child develops its driving faculties while having fun! The design of the MOOVER Toys has charmed a big number of ‘’ludothécaires’’ but this is the innovative nature of this range that made the difference. Delivered in kit in flat packaging, the Walker, Rocking Horse or Moover Trucks can be easily assembled and without any tools thanks to their unique system called « click key system ». Later, the child will be able to build them itself!

Dans la catégorie Jeu, les ludothécaires ont élu Kakuzu de Gigamic, le premier jeu de société multijoueurs basé sur le Sudoku ! Il s’agit d’affronter ses adversaires autour d’une même grille de Sudoku dont les chiffres sont cachés par 81 pierres. Les joueurs piochent tour à tour un chiffre qu’ils doivent ensuite retrouver dans la grille en retirant une des pierres. Le plus perspicace est le celui qui aura récupéré le plus de pierres en fin de partie ! Pratiqué seul, Kakuzu offre aussi une nouvelle manière de pratiquer le Sudoku. Une chose est sûre, au delà du phénomène de mode Sudoku, c’est la qualité et l’intérêt ludique de ce jeu qu’ont plébiscité les ludothécaires !

A playful unique price in its kind

The ALF gather today 1190 ludothèques in France. Today about 6 000 ludothécaires, « give to play» to a public of all age. These professionnels are particularly demanding when it comes to the choice of the playful material. The toys and games present in ludothèques must meet different criteria as quality, innovation, esthetic, functionality, solidity, security and of course the playful interest l! The ludothécaires present at the  Salon du Jouet et du Jeu have considered all these criteria to elect the  « Coups de 2010 ».
Among the large number of existing playful prices, « Le coup de des ludothécaires » is the only one awarded by the ludothécaires. It highlights their expertise but also the quality and the originality of the creation in term of toys and games. In a near future, this price wish to become a label of quality acknowledged by the professional sector and by the end consumers.
